Brits 2012

Hey everyone

This is my new and current Blog, so remember to check it out regularly for updates on stuff.
I'm just back from 2 weeks in Laax Switzerland which were sick!!
1st week was the training camp where I was training for the British championships. I got quite a few new tricks on the big kickers and had a lot of fun riding with everyone.
Next week was the British Champs and first up was Pipe. I got my run in qualifiers and got through to finals in 8th place. Then in finals got my run even better and got 6th place overall and 2nd in my category(13-16). I was really stoked with this result.
I took skicross off as a day to practice for the more important slopestyle. On the day of Slopestyle the speed was really difficult as always causing me to crash in my first run. I then decided to play it really safe and put down an easy and solid run to get me through to finals. I qualified 9th and practice was only 2 runs. On these 2 runs I tried to do my run on the big kickers and knuckled every hit. Meaning when it came to my first finals run, I had to hit the medium jumps which I hadn't hit all week, so I took it as an opportunity to learn the speed and do the stuff on my next run. So I did this and got my run which I was sort of pleased with. In the end I got 9th overall and 2nd in my category(13-16). Was quite disappointed as I feel that if I had landed my run on the big kickers I would have done better but 2nd is still a good result for me.
The last day was Big Air and the speed was good and the Kicker was amazing. I did a switch 5 truck and a switch 9 safety in qualifiers which got me into the finals in 9th place. The finals were a different format though, it was 3 runs best 2 count but they have to be different tricks. So I did a switch 9 safety then a cork 7 mute which I wasn't happy with so I did another cork 7 mute and got it. I ended up 8th place overall and 3rd in the my category.(13-16) I was really stoked with all of my results this year at the Brits as I was the youngest of an insanely difficult category.
Thanks to all the people who took the pics!
